Get Involved
Paying attention to our life in the broader community is one of our commitments in ministry. We live this out through
Jane’s Team is our Doorstep Ministry, named after a beloved member of the church who met with our neighbors in need. Now, a committed group of church members carry on the work of offering small emergency assistance for those who need some help. Team members meet, listen, pray, connect those we help with important services, and help in small ways that we can.
First Parish Church has a long service history in the Brunswick region and surrounding Mid Coast Maine region. We have historic and sustaining connections to our local hunger prevention program (Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program), shelter and transitional housing (Tedford Shelter), medical clinic (Oasis Health Network), and day center and warming shelter (The Gathering Place.)
In addition, our Christian Outreach Team invites community organizations each year to apply for our Benevolence Grants. Through these special gifts, we support new and continuing initiatives to better and enrich the lives of our neighbors.
In the 2022-2023 Program Year, Benevolence Grants are at work at:
Joining the church is a way in which we at First Parish make promises to each other and God to support one another in our work, play, ministries, and journeys of faith. For a wide variety of our ministries, church membership is never required. If you’re considering becoming a member, please contact the office so you can be connected with a pastor or a deacon.

Our staff make the ministries of worship, education, fellowship, and outreach possible. We support local social service agencies financially because they are in the best position to serve the vulnerable in ways we are not. Through good stewardship of our buildings, we not only support the activities of the congregation itself, but we also provide space for wider community use. We are grateful for the generosity of the people of First Parish Church. We have created a safe harbor for our community through your presence, gifts of service, and financial support. If you’d like to make a one-time or recurring gift to the church, you can do so here.
We come together to form a beautiful and loving community that holds each other up. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we would love to share it with you. All religious questions are encouraged and gladly answered.
