All We Can Save Discussion Group
Climate change can feel like an insurmountable problem. We know that we need to limit carbon emissions in the next few years to avoid the worst effects of climate change, but doing the work to get there is never easy. In this reading and discussion group, we’ll be taking inspiration from the essays and poetry of women at the forefront of the climate movement. We will listen to the wisdom they have to impart, sit with them in their grief over the things that have already been lost, take courage with them to save all we can. We hope this group will be a time to build community around climate solutions, and that you’ll carry those solutions with you when you go. Alone, climate change is almost impossible to contemplate solving. But together, our collective action can make a real difference, and if we’re going to change everything, we need everyone.
Join us as we read selected essays and poetry from All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis edited by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Dr. Katharine K. Wilkinson – Starting Sunday, Sept. 10 and going for 6 weeks, excluding Indigenous People’s Day Weekend. We will meet at 11:15am in the Parlor of Pilgrim House, First Parish Church.
