Throughout scripture, the drum has been an instrument of praise.  Miriam played the drum in celebration; the psalmists tell us to praise God with the timbrel.  Drumming draws us to that sacred beat that God the Creator has given to each one of us, the steady beats of our hearts.  Dr. Jane is offering a contemplative prayer drum circle on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:00-6:30 p.m.  No drumming experience is required, just a desire to center your spirit and uplift the prayers of your heart.  This session will be held in the vestry, and drums will be provided.  Please RSVP to Dr. Jane at jhagness@firstparish.net and indicate whether you have a drum that you would be bringing with you or you need a drum that we provide for this experience.
