EVENT
Practicing the Psalms
WHEN: After worship on Sundays: 11:15am-12:15pm, March 10, & 17.
WHERE: Pilgrim House Chapel
WHAT: Lenten Experiential Gatherings: Spiritual practices for praying the Psalms.
The final two sessions of our series will use two distinct spiritual practices to encounter the Psalms anew. Each session will include time practicing together, and an opportunity to reflect on the experience and how it might enrich our spiritual lives.
- March 10—Silent Contemplation of Psalm 22
- A guided time of silent meditation on Jesus’ words of lament from the cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
- March 17—Praying the Rosary with Psalm 100
- We return to the practice that began our series and pray the Anglican with a Psalm of grateful praise. Rosaries will be available. Please bring your rosary if you received one on our first session.
These sessions are intended to encourage the practice of moving from head to heart. As we integrate mind and heart we seek to unite our full inner lives as whole human beings in prayer through the Psalms–ancient scriptures that express the broad range of human experience.
