The autumn season in New England brings so much awe-inspiring beauty into our world. Despite the later dawn and earlier dusk, we can revel in the beauty of the blue skies as the natural light accentuates the brilliant yellows, reds, and oranges in our deciduous trees.  Of course, there is raking, stacking wood, and putting our gardens to bed as we prepare for the upcoming winter season.  Similarly, this is a time for us to prepare ourselves for a season that provides quieter, perhaps introspective, times in our own lives. How are you preparing for this important time of your life?  

This month’s featured book, The Artist’s Way, is one that might enrich a present hobby or fuel new insights into your own creative spirit as you engage in a new pastime. Included in the author’s basic principles is “Creativity is God’s gift to us.  Using our creativity is our gift back to God.” Due to selling more than a million copies, this is the tenth anniversary copy of this book with a new introduction by the author that I have included in this article.  It is a book that has been used not only by artists, but by people seeking to discover their creative talents that are hidden within each of us.  What a perfect time for each of us to find and develop ours!
